 TRAINING PROGRAM

Since centralizing the Chemical Division's new driver training, we have made many improvements. The goal was to provide the best possible training in an environment that would accurately represent TSC. TSC Training FacilityThe Midwest terminal in Joliet, IL the Pasadena terminal in Pasadena, TX, and the Loudon terminal in Loudon, TN provided the perfect locations to accomplish this. They are located on the second floor of the facilities, where we utilize the largest space for driver training. The classroom itself is designed with the new driver in mind. Since training is scheduled for up to three weeks, the training environment is both informative and comfortable. We employ many training aids during the classroom portion of the process. The latest of these is a complete mock up of an actual DOT 407 chemical tank with all its working parts. This was provided to us courtesy of Stuart Tank, Elkhorn, WI. There was a great amount of effort and input from many people to see this project through to completion. It now allows us to not only tell a driver how tank components work, but really show them how they function and what they look like inside and out. It allows drivers to view these things in a friendly environment where they do not feel intimidated and are more comfortable asking questions. The tank has many features, including a complete dome cover assembly with cutaway versions of the DOT407 pressure and vacuum relief safety devices. It is equipped with airline connections with a pressure gauge, ball valves and water separator allowing for the demonstration of pressure unloading. It is fitted with both a complete internal and external valve assembly. The external valve can be taken apart and passed around for viewing while the center of the tank is covered in a transparent plastic panel providing the ability to see exactly how the hydraulic internal valve opens and closes. We would encourage anyone in these areas to stop by the terminal and view the facility where our Chemical Division drivers are trained. See for yourself why the drivers attending training depart with an impression of a company that is truly "First Class".
