Transport Service Co. has formed a third party logistics company, TNLT. This division has enabled Transport Service Co. to manage all aspects of shippers distribution needs. We currently have several locations where we have on-site personnel handling various logistics functions, based on customer requirements.

 

Responsible Care® Partner

Transport Service Co. was accepted as a member of the American Chemistry Council Responsible Care® Partner Program in January 1997. As a Responsible Care® Partner we are committed to and are now implementing an initiative designed to improve performance in health, safety and environmental quality. Transport Service Co. has made Responsible Care® an integral part of our operations. Our procedures and policies are written to meet or exceed the guidelines and requirements of Responsible Care®.

 

 

TRANSPORT SERVICE CO. RCMS CERTIFICATION

 

Transport Service Co. (TSC) received the American Chemistry Council’s Responsible Care Management System RCMS Certification on December 14, 2007.  Under the direction of Tom Hosty, VP Safety, Security & Regulatory Compliance, and working with Peter Nativo, VP of Maintenance, John Miskimen, VP of Operations Chemical Division, and George Peirce, Responsible Care Coordinator, TSC went through extensive corporate and terminal audits conducted by Midland Engineering, Ltd., an independent audit firm.  They have verified that TSC met certain criteria in the areas of Environment, Health, Safety, and Security.  There were five major component areas they audited to confirm our management system:

 

• Policy and Leadership
• Planning
• Implementation, Operation and Accountability
• Performance Measurement, Corrective and Preventive Action
• Management Review and Reporting

 

Going through the audit process helped us to improve our systems, which will make TSC an even stronger carrier.

TSC is currently working with the American Chemistry Council through a bulk truck work team to help our drivers safely inspect the top of their tanks after loading and unloading.  As a Responsible Care Partner, we hope to find other common safety issues for which we can jointly develop solutions by working with the ACC members.

 TSC has been a Responsible Care Partner since 1997.  We are one of only five bulk carriers who have met the 2007 certification deadline.  The creation of the certification process has added real value into the Partner Program.  Value has been gained by improving our systems and ACC members support in using the services of RCMS certified carriers.

 

 

TransCaer

Transport Service Co. is an active participant in TransCaer activities throughout the country. Working closely with state and local emergency response groups close to our operating sites.
