Since the Mentor/Referral Program was implemented on October 1, 2010, 44%, or almost half of all the drivers we have hired, were a direct result of the commitment of our drivers reaching out to other drivers and referring them to TSC.

What is a Mentor?
A Mentor is an instructor/teacher/helper/listener.....
  • Someone who's been down the road before and can share their knowledge, experience and wisdom on and ongoing basis.
  • A wise and trusted friend, counselor or teacher, usually a more experienced person.

Please remember, this is more than just a referral program, it's a Mentor Program.  Now that your referred driver is employed with us, we hope that you will play an active role, by staying in touch with him/her on an ongoing basis and being there when they may need your expertise and wisdom.

TSC wants you to take this active role in mentoring the new driver to not only make sure he/she is comfortable with TSC and feels a part of the family, but also to assist management in delivering the message that safety is #1 and part of our culture.

Please keep the following in mind:

  • The most difficult adjustment times for new drivers are the first twelve to eighteen months with a company.
  • The structure of this bonus program is to encourage you to stay actively engaged with the new driver for his/her first 500,000 miles.
  • Inform management of any issues that are beyond the normal adjustment to new company policies, enabling the managers to become involved with helping the new driver succeed in the transition.
  • This program is designed to compensate you to take an active role in mentoring the new driver by allowing yourself to share in the new driver's success.

Under this new Mentor/Referral Program, payments will be made from the date of hire to a maximum of 500,000 safe miles for the driver being hired based on the following schedule:

  • Referred driver completes training and pulls first load - $200 payable to referring driver.
  • Referred driver achieves 25,000 safe miles - $200 payable to referring driver.
  • Referred driver achieves 100,000 safe miles - $600 payable to referring driver.
  • Referred driver achieves 200,000 safe miles - $1,000 payable to referring driver.
  • Referred driver achieves 300,000 safe miles - $1,000 payable to referring driver.
  • Referred driver achieves 400,000 safe miles - $1,000 payable to referring driver.
  • Referred driver achieves 500,000 safe miles - $1,000 payable to referring driver.
