People You Should Know

What is the catalyst that holds your terminal operation together??? For the Plaquemine operation it is our "local drivers". The epitome of dedication and loyalty, these two drivers fill in the operational gaps, preload for our road drivers, shuttle equipment to & from the tank wash and shops, haul off our wash water and the list goes on! They are ambassadors to our customers, road trainers to our new drivers and life support to our dispatch operations. For all these reasons and a whole lot more, we are proud to present CLARENCE HAYES and MITCHELL BRISCOE as the Plaquemine terminal Person(s) You Should Know. Clarence has worked for TSC for 12 years and is a member of the 200,000 Mile Club. He and his wife Darlyn have 3 children. Although, the children are very dear to them, it is their two grandchildren, Anthony (4) and Marco (2), who make their world go around. When Clarence is not working or playing with grandchildren, he and Darlyn are avid Saints fans, following their every game. With what little time is left in their busy lives, they enjoy bowling and the occasional fishing trip. Clarence tells us the reason he works for TSC is because he "loves the people and the atmosphere around the terminal". Mitch came to TSC in April, 2006, and is a member of the 100,000 Mile Club. He is quiet and reserved, but you be sure he is always on top of his game. Mitch and his wife, Coulette, have been married for 10 years. According to Mitch, they have the perfect family; a daughter, Taye (8) and a son, Tyrin (5). When Mitch is not working, you will find he and his family active participants in their Church. He also enjoys the relaxation of a good fishing trip. Mitch says the reason he likes working for TSC is because they "treat the drivers like people". At TSC you are not just a number. According to Clarence and Mitch, rear end collisions can be avoided by pre-planning your trip so that you are not rushed. Always use the 5-second rule to determine your following distance, use even more time in bad weather. Our local duo's Safety tip is to make sure to check your unit numbers carefully against your paperwork when hooking up to a load or deliver. Always compare your Shipper's BOL to the TSC delivery ticket. If something does not look right, ask questions. It is also important to get proper rest so your mind stays sharp all day. Proper maintenance of our equipment is vitally important to providing the error free service our customers expect. Performing thorough pre-trip and post trip inspections are essential. Make sure the shop or dispatch is aware of problems with the equipment before they become breakdowns on the road. What would our operations be without our local drivers, Clarence and Mitch? I hope we never have to find out! Thanks to you both for your daily efforts to make our team successful, and Congratulations on a job well done from your TSC family!
