On Saturday, March 21, 2009, employees of the Loudon, TN terminal gathered at an area restaurant for breakfast and to celebrate their winning the 2008 Terminal Safety Contest Award. The award is presented annually to the terminal that has the lowest accident frequency and Loudon earned it with a frequency of 0.16 per 100,000 miles. An accident in this contest is any preventable motor vehicle accident, personal injury, equipment damage, spill contamination. It is not just a drivers contest, but also includes mechanics, tank cleaners, and all office personnel. We had a record crowd of almost 80 employees in attendance including TSC President Robert Schurer, V/P Sales Dave Marikos, V/P Operations Brenda Lynn, and V/P Safety, Security & Regulatory Compliance, Tom Hosty. During the breakfast there were door prize drawings, TSC baseball jackets, and TSC tape measures distributed. At that time, TSC President Bob Schurer unveiled the TSC Economic Stimulus Plan by distributing $500.00 bonus checks to all employees at the Loudon terminal. The bonus checks are given to the winning terminal if they also have an accident frequency of less than 0.40 per 100,000 miles. Following the ceremonies, a group picture was taken that will be displayed in our 2010 TSC calendar, on the TSC TV network, in our corporate office, as well as at the Loudon terminal.
On behalf of the LOUDON terminal, the members of the TSC Drivers Two Million Mile Club and One Million Mile Club accepted the 2008 Terminal Safety Award Plaque from Robert Schurer, President of TSC on Saturday, March 21, 2009.
