On June 10, 2010, the Transport Service Co. Midland terminal was presented with two TRANSCAER® awards for their dedication and support to TRANSCAER®. Our Midland terminal has been active in the support of training and supplying of equipment for use in demonstrations on the whistle stop tour through Michigan. The presenters emphasized that only through the support of companies like Transport Service Co. are they able to offer these training programs.
Mike Mullis was presented with a certificate for his support and commitment to TRANSCAER®. Mike has been a big part in writing the training presentations for the tank truck sessions.
The presentation was made by three Dow personnel, Tom Bledsoe, Pete Kirk, and Jack Johnson. They made the presentation on behalf of Rollie Shook who is also from Dow and is the Leader of the North American TRANSCAER®.
Transport Service Co. will again participate in the TRANCAER® Michigan Tour beginning June 12, 2010. The tour has trained thousands of industry, governmental, and volunteer responders on how to manage incidents involving hazardous materials. Both rail and truck are heavily represented in this training, which is offered to anyone interested at no cost. It is a modular training class that take a full day to complete, and utilizes state of the art classrooms along with actual rail, intermodal, and tank truck hands on equipment.
